This battery backup comes with two options for starting a dead car battery. Plug in the jumper cables for a quick boost directly to your car's battery without the need of another vehicle, or trickle charge it with the DC plug attachment.
Both options are fool-proof. The jumper cables include a smart sensor that will notify you with a red light and alert sound if you've mixed up black and red, and the DC plug has an attached digital Voltage reader that lets you know when you have enough juice to start the car (it takes between 5 and 20 minutes).
The battery backup can also be used day-to-day to charge up your mobile devices like smartphones and iPads, or just about anything that recharges via USB. The included Micro USB cord is used to charge up the battery backup, but if you have an Android you can reverse the cord and use it to charge your phone.
