It can be argued that the kit is the better deal at just $30 more, but as mentioned there are reasons why you might want to go with this option. The 12Ah battery is physically larger and heavier, although it will deliver considerably more runtime.
The choice is yours, but its a decision you will probably want to make quickly. Given that the bare tool is priced at $249, the $249 bare tool with free 8.0Ah battery promo and $280 12.0Ah kit promo especially might not last very long if they sell quickly.
