Featuring the Blackberry Storm 2

Low and behold the latest in Blackberry’s lineup, the Storm2, is out and available now at your mobile service provider. The boys and girls at Research in Motion (RIM) wanted to design the Storm2 with Storm’s original owners in mind, keep the appearance and initial operation the same, just making it better. Tired of waiting on slow loading web pages and poor reaction time? Well worry no further; RIM has vastly improved overall speed issues on all facets on the Storm2. The Storm2 incorporates RIM’s SurePress Technology which has it’s fans and foes. Whether you’re a fan or not the Storm2 has made large strides in properly integrating the technology properly that will make you a believer in no time. Need more memory no problem, he Storm2’s built in flash memory has been upgraded from the original Storm. The included memory sizes include 256 Megabytes and 2 Gigabytes sizes. Wireless, or the lack of, has always been Storm’s crutch; well they’ve finally solved this problem by including built in Wi-Fi for all your wireless surfing and application needs.

Another noticeable difference it that the Storm2 has added some extra grams but in return, the Storm2 enhanced the build of their devices into a more solid piece of equipment. Another cool improvement is the Storm2’s main display is built with less of the unstable movement of its predecessor. Also the chief buttons are now integrated on the main screen eliminating the pesky dust that always seem to find its way in between the cracks of the Storm’s original buttons. There is now no need to have the Storm standing upright to play audio clearly. The Blackberry Storm2 places its speakers on the bottom; the audio flow is now unobstructed while the device is laid on its back on any hard surface. When we had a look at other phones, the Palm PRE & Palm Pixi stood out as having similar features.

Should you invest in the Storm2 right away? Well sure if you absolutely nothing else to spend your money on, but users holding on the original Storm should not worry; there is absolutely no reason to upgrade right away if you do not need to. The Storm will not become obsolete anytime soon and you will be good for some time to come. The question you have to ask yourself is, if the Storm2 wasn’t designed differently with Wi-Fi would you upgrade? That will seem to be the deciding factor as the inside scoop has it that Storm owners will soon have access to software improvements that will give users similar usability between the two units. If you opt out of your contract and rush to get the Storm2 I really don’t blame you. With a more solid construction, a sexier feel and enhanced functionality the Blackberry Storm2 is well worth the upgrade.
